I pledge to work for this change…
I truly believe that God stands on the side on the left-out, the under-valued, and the over-looked. Today God’s people should be standing up for GLBTQ persons, for full inclusion in society and the church. I pledge to work for this change so my kids can grow up in a world free from prejudge and artificial lines.
How long do we wait on our church?
For so long we’ve waited on the edge for justice, waited to be included, to be welcomed as equals, to be invited to the institutional table. We who are still waiting for the Umc to change its polity and its attitude know and believe ourselves loved and blessed by God. How long do we wait on our church? A little longer… A little longer…
Equal Rights Regardless of Sexual Orientation
Equal Rights Regardless of Sexual Orientation
Certain basic human rights and civil liberties are due all persons. We are committed to supporting those rights and liberties for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation.
We see a clear issue of simple justice in protecting the rightful claims where people have shared material resources, pensions, guardian relationships, mutual powers of attorney, and other such lawful claims typically attendant to contractual relationships that involve shared contributions, responsibilities, and liabilities, and equal protection before the law. Moreover, we support efforts to stop violence and other forms of coercion against all persons, regardless of sexual orientation
